Home For Good: The Alliance to End Homelessness
Home for Good: The Alliance to End Homelessness is charged with implementing the City’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. The ten year plan contains seven strategic initiatives for establishing long-term, sustainable solutions for reducing and ending homelessness. Our goal is to make homelessness atypical, temporary and non-recurring.
Priority areas of focus include: • Increased access to affordable and permanent supportive housing • Increased coordination and collaborative efforts among service and system providers Moving to Work Homeless Housing Initiative The Housing Authority of Columbus has been awarded the Moving to Work designation by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Through this endeavor, Home for Good and the Housing Authority are partnering to create long-term, supportive housing for veterans and the chronically homeless. The project calls for a blended housing mix of housing vouchers and physical construction. Over the next 24 months, approximately 250 units of housing will be available for homeless families and individuals.
